At present I am rethinking this blog in the light of my deteriorating sight and fast learning curve in the last few weeks. I have been very frustrated at not being able to see the screen on my laptop.
With help from the Macular Society, the RNIB, Ability Net and good friends and family, I am finding exciting new ways of using technology to help. All this takes time, as no sooner do I find one solution or accessibility aid, than another shoots up and displaces it.
I have now talked with the very helpful adviser at www.abilitynet.co.uk and they have offered to arrange for someone experienced in disability problems to come to my home to help me assess my needs. Brilliant! I am hoping this will give my endlessly patient friends a break.
